To run to the best of our ability – to do anything to the best of our ability – a plan can be a good guide and a support to keep us on track and to help us realise the outcome that flashed first into our consciousness as a dream, an aspiration, born of inspiration…

I wonder if I could do that…?

I recognize that I write in riddles, as at the deepest level, I have found through experience that plans have a way of unfolding of themselves as does the path…

However for the path to unfold, we need to take the steps, one at a time…

‘Paso a paso’ is the way to arrive at our dream, our desired outcome…

So the secret is to hold these two seemingly opposing ideals lightly in our hands… They are our reins as we ride the ‘dream horse’ to our highest potential…

So why plan, if the path is going to happen anyway…?

Because the plan that emerges from staying connected to each moment, is how we will see the path revealing itself… A plan born of wisdom and listening to our inner voice is part of the path, moment by moment unfolding…

And we live in a universe with natural laws, which if we flow with and follow can help us to understand the paradoxes and work with the pull of yin to yang… Training hard/recovery; eating sufficient to fuel our training/ keeping the best weight for our event; believing we can achieve anything/ adjusting to what is occurring; Getting strong/keeping supple; the desire to achieve/the fear of failing; the feeling we can do anything we set out to achieve/the fear of finding out we can’t…

A wise and carefully thought out plan can help us as we travel along this path which as I have said, will in truth will unfold of itself…

But a plan will help us to grow and expand and learn. It will allow us to know ourselves more, develop strengths, new skills, and uncover our latent talents.

The secret is to have a light hold on the desired outcome; this way as we travel, we can adjust the plan to any changes in circumstance, to our health, to possible injury, to any number of possible unforeseen road blocks on the way…

With services like iSportsAnalysis to help us monitor our training, we can stay in the moment with even more ease, and allow the plan to unfold whilst adhering to the structure we have created towards a big event. Being in the step and planning for the future can then truly exist side by side…

There are many ways to achieve our goals and the secret is to really consider all we know about ourselves and all we know about what it will take to reach the pinnacle of our achievement…

Really consider the timescale, the factors needed both in terms of training, support in the form of body work, nutrition, coaching and lifestyle…

This way a plan can be constructed which is tailored to the individual, in solo sporting endeavours as well as in team sports…

These methods mean that the coaches can more fully know the individuals and the individuals can get to know themselves more fully, and it allows for a plan that reflects the path…

Then, the path reveals itself and can be supported with the monitoring a service like iSportsAnalysis gives… Because the date produced will reveal what is occurring as the plan unfolds…

This allows the steps to be more conscious, and truly of the moment, truly Zen, allowing the running to take you where it will…

Science meets spirituality; the Zen of science….
